Introduction

Americos Extracta XL is a highly concentrated emulsifier cum wetting agent. It is recommended for scouring process. It removes all natural as well as added impurities from cotton and improves the absorbency of fabric.

Americos Extracta XL is a biodegradable linear alcohol derivative with emulsifying and dispersing action necessary for the removal of oily and waxy contamination from textiles.

Americos Extracta XL is widely applicable in continuous pretreatment of all types of fibers and their blends.

The most outstanding effects of Americos Extracta XL:

• Excellent scouring agent with good wetting and detergent action
• Removes oily contamination and sizes of all types producing a high degree of purification and absorbency
• The good enzyme compatibility and good wetting and detergent action allow its application in all enzymatic-desizing processes
• Its good stability over the entire pH range ensures its versatile application encompassing desizing, scouring and bleaching

Mode of action

Americos Extracta XL wets out, washes, extracts, emulsifies, disperses and leaches out impurities in all continuous and discontinuous pretreatments.

Americos Extracta XL has an emulsifying effect even at room temperature, e.g. on mineral oil contamination, so that it becomes readily removable by subsequent hot rinsing.

Americos Extracta XL produces a good degree of scouring and imparts good absorbency to fabric.

Americos Extracta XL removes synthetic sizes of all types as well as starch sizes and their derivatives from desized fabric.

Scope of application

Thanks to its versatile action. Americos Extracta XL can be applied very widely to pretreatment, primarily as an ecologically acceptable detergent for textile materials made of cellulosic fibers, synthetic fibers and their blends, including colored articles.

Application examples

• Scouring of goods fully white as well as dyed articles
• Removal of sizes by all desizing processes
• Removal of mineral oil contamination in an aqueous medium
• Scour boiling, including reductive or oxidative alkali treatments in liquors up to 8^o Be caustic soda (55 g/lNaOH)
• Bleaching by all usual methods with sodium hypo chlorite and hydrogen peroxide

Application

1. Removal of water soluble sizes

1. Continuous open width washer
   • 2 - 4 g/l Americos Extracta XL at 95oC in appropriate washing boxes, rinse in final compartment at 95^°C
2. Pad batch
   • 4-8g/l Americos Extracta XL
   • Pad, batch 4 - 6 hours at room temperature.
   • Rinse at 80°- 90°C.

2. Enzymatic desizing

1. Continuous applications
   • 2-5g/l Americos Extracta XL
   • 1-5g/l Americos Amylase 180
   • Run appropriate conditions for enzyme. Rinse hot.
2. Discontinuous application (liquid ratio: 1:8 - 1:20)
   • 2-4g/l Americos Extracta XL
   • 2-3g/l Americos Amylase 180
   • Run appropriate conditions for enzyme. Rinse hot

3. Scouring

1. Continuous
   • 5-3g/l Americos Extracta XL
   • 40-60g/l caustic soda (100%)
2. Discontinuous (liquor ratio 1:8 - 1:20 )
   • 2-5g/l Americos Extracta XL
   • 2-4g/l soda ash
   • 3-8g/l caustic soda 100%
   • Start cool. Heat to 95°C, hold 30 - 60 min. Rinse hot then cold.

4. Peroxide bleaching

1. Semi-continuous - cold, pad, batch
   • Add: 5 - 10 ml/l Americos Extracta XL to cold pad batch bath.
2. Continuous hot bleaching.
   • Add: 1- 8 ml/l Americos Extracta XL to bleach bath.
3. Discontinuous
   • Add: 1 - 4 ml/l Americos Extracta XL to bleach bath.

Storage & handling precautions

• Store in a cool/dry place
• Avoid storing in direct sunlight
• The shelf life of Americos Extracta XL is one year, if storage temperature is below 30°C
• The usual storage, handling, usage and safety precautions should be observed

Introduction

Americos Leveler LE is low foaming leveling agent for high temperature dyeing of polyester. During polyester exhaust dyeing, Americos Leveler LE increases the solubility of disperse dyes, which ensure a better distribution of the dyes during the heating phase.

Americos Leveler LE is used for dyeing mainly polyester but can also be used for acetate, triacetate and polyamide fibers with disperse dyes.

Americos Leveler LE can also be used for the following processes:

• Can be used to lighten the dyeing
• Can also be used as an auxiliary during stripping of dyes in reductive baths
• Can also be used as an auxiliary during stripping of dyes in reductive baths

Exhaust application (During dyeing)

In order to achieve better result, it is recommended to combine Americos Leveler LE in the recipe with an anionic dispersant such as Americos Dispersol DX.

Dosage

Americos Leveler LE	0.2% - 0.5%
Americos Dispersol DX	0.5% - 1.0%

During washing-off or reduction clearing

Along with the washing-off or reduction clearing recipe, Americos Leveler LE removes the unfixed disperse dyes rapidly and thoroughly.

Storage & Handling Precautions

• Avoid storing in direct sunlight
• The shelf life of Americos Leveler LE is one year if stored below 40°C
• The usual precautions in keeping chemicals away from eyes and skin should be observed
